Now there's always been some degree of tension between Batman and Green Arrow. I always assumed it was because Batman felt like GA was ripping of his gig. I mean c'mon, Millionaire Playboy witnesses death of parents and decides to devote his life to fighting crime. After years of training, he's ready...all he needs is a symbol; something to strike fear into the hearts of criminals everywhere and that symbol is...Robin Hood.
Lame. And The Arrow-Cave? Who are you kidding?
Well as it turns out, stealing Batman's Modus Operandi is only the second biggest reason why the Caped Crusader hates Green Arrow. The first? GA stepped on Batman's Kool-Aide! (Click on image to enlarge the hilarity)
Turns out that in all Batman's travels, studying at martial arts ashrams and learning escape artistry, he forgot to pick up one essential skill.
Game: GA has it, Batman does not.
Now you might say "Hey that's not fair! In that comic Black Canary says that she only sees Bats as a friend" And you'd be right. But let me tell you something. If I were the Goddamn Batman I wouldn't get caught in the "friend-zone" to begin with. And I certainly wouldn't hand the keys to my Bat-Jet to my rival and then run off, bat-tears streaming down my face.
Well it's all a moot point now. Batman got his final revenge. Dark Knight ended up being the second highest grossing film of all time, while GA's upcoming movie: SuperMax is almost certainly doomed to failure.
Sometimes nice guys win in the end after all.
